In 1943 a woman of colour is struggling to keep her land in rural Kentucky, so when she finds a baby hidden in her scarecrow and the spirit of her dead sister haunting her field she has to decide if she owes anything to the living or the dead.
A Southern gothic story about the most vulnerable of people and the economics of staying safe.
